Valdez Halibut Fishing Trip Part 1

Andy Bryan and I in Delta Junction.
The End of the Alaskan Highway.

The Alaskan Pipeline.

You just have to see it in person.

A cow wandered across the road.

Made some faces at us.

Silly Moose...tried hiding behind some grass.

Signing in on the boat at 6:00 a.m.
Thomas Ridenour, Thad Newton and Chad in the cabin.

Some foggy views of the harbor.

Andy and Evan enjoying a good laugh.

Sea lions resting on the buoy.

Waiting for the first bite.

Thad with one on the line and Captain Dave gaffing it.

Andy's Rock fish - looked prehistoric.

After landing one of my halibut.

Andy caught two at one time.

Thad's Halibut

Thad Newton working a big one.

Captain Dave standing by with the gaff to pull a large fish in.

Andy Bryan catching a few winks on the boat. I took this picture when the boat was going over the spot where the Exxon Valdez ran onto a sand bar and spilled millions of gallons of oil into the sea.

I named it Smiley Face Mountain.

Heading home!
