Trip to Chaska

Last year when my brother in-law Stephen Mayhle was killed, our friends Mike and Mel Duzan flew down from Minnesota to be with us. When Mikes Uncle was ambushed in North St. Paul and was killed we left for Minneapolis to be with them. Here is an article about Mike and his Uncle and Hero - Click Here.

Special Day for Mom

I could not attend the service for my dear mother as she was the "Mother of the Year" at the Meadville Wesleyan Methodist Church. So Pastor Houseworth asked me to call and give greetings and memories. On the other side of this phone call: http://stanjean.blogspot.com/2010/05/mother-of-year.html

Moving Dirt and Installing Culvert

I spent a couple of days excavating the front of the church rental property.
Mike Medved hauled the subsoil up the road.

Wayne Drury helped install the culvert.

The bank caved away a couple of times - FUN!

My Latest Acquisition

I am going on a diet and so I decided to buy a new set of scales. I tried out a few scales in the store...amazing the range they all gave. One claimed I weighed 290...I finally found one that said I only weighed 283.5 - I bought it!! Wish me luck and don't send any pies, cakes or cookies to the parsonage.

Food for Thought

Miracles Do Happen

I am happy to report an awesome addition to our church. We were able to purchase the entire contents of a church about one hour from Keepville. We purchased everything: 19 full length pews, pulpit, 2 pulpit pews,2 alters, chandeliers, wall sconces, flags, offering plates, communion sets, tables, chairs, filing cabinets, bulletin boards, sound system,
I guess would not have been our color of choice, but God picked the color so I guess we won't complain. It saves on any trouble of what color to get. Fortunately for us the people in our church are not that kind anyways. The pews are the exact lengths we need. When Rev. Rowan Fay suggested we turn our church sideways, I was sceptical. When the Meadville church donated 3 pews we turned our church sideways to fit them in. It went right along with Rev. Rowan Fays suggestion. Now we see why....God was preparing our church to fit the pews he had for us. We now will be able to seat over 100 comfortably - doubling our seating capacity. We have struggled busting past our 80% capacity limit for 4 years. With the new pews and renovated interior we will have plenty of room to fill. After that - we will go to two services on a Sunday morning.

Getting the Plane Ready

After building planes, I picked up this ARF - a Hangar 9 Alpha 40 to add to our plane fleet. Once the boys learn to fly these planes they can fly my fast Jap Zero. I built it about 12 years ago. On the Alpha 40's maiden flight we broke a prop. We are re propped and ready to fly.
