Pet Peeve #327

If you are not going to pass.....don't drive in the "passing lane". There is nothing more irritating than to follow someone that will not pass nor get over. There cruise is set and they will not touch the gas and go any faster and neither will they tap the brake and get over. If you do this and I pull up behind you....well maybe you had better not!!

A Visit with Jack

Harold Hartley is his name, but we call him Jack. He lost his dear wife two weeks ago and we wanted to stop and say hello. We sure do miss her, but it was great to stop and visit with him a little bit. He was not as chipper as he usually is and that is quite understandable.

Exie's First Date & the Chandlersville Road Visits

I had very little time and many people to see. Unfortunately I did not get to see everyone I wanted to. I made my trip worthwhile. First I took Exie on her first date. I tried to act very disapproving of this decision to date. After all she is just too young. Then again she is 16 and kids just seem to grow up way to fast. He seemed like a nice guy. I was so busy thinking about so many things I regret not getting there picture together. I had him fill out an application and read some rules before he could do so. Click here to read the application.

I actually was able to make a smile for the camera. I stopped by Lee and Gladys Johnson. It was so good to see them.
Then just up two houses, there grandson Jeffery had just built a new house.

He was laying a drainage ditch in when I stopped. I had helped him set a pole and wire up his trailer about 6 or 7 years ago on this very spot. Wow time flies.

Thompson Visit

We stopped at Dave and Holly Thompsons for a little while.

Enjoying a good conversation about....everything.

Dave is Chef Chow Mein.

Prayer Needed

Bro. Tom Mooney from our church is in serious need of prayer. He has been in the hospital for 5 weeks today. Yesterday he took a turn for the worse and Byron spent the night at the hospital with them because they did not feel that he'd live through the night. Byron is still there - which is why I am posting for him. Right now they are preparing to take him to surgery. Thank you for your prayers.

Guitar Boogie

Classical Gas

Coshocton Ohio

Yes, we went and ate at Colonel Sanders. Since Ben and Carolyn McHugh were not going to be home till late, we dropped the kids off at their house and Ray and Virginia watched them till my wife and I got back from a short date. I took Julie to the Coshocton KFC where they have a buffet and drink for 5.99. She loves their bisquits and honey.....and so do I.

Then we headed back to make sure our kids were behaving and to visit with Ray and Virginia. Ray worked for me wiring new homes in Muskingum County and even came up to our house to visit us and helped wire our church. Ray and I always greet each other with a "Hey Ray!" and he replies "Hi Guy!". I counted up about 5 homes and a large 850 amp commercial job he helped me with. We were catching up on news and enjoying their company till Ben and Carolyn got back from a 4-H meeting. The kids had fun trying to steel Ray's hat.

Here is a style of guitar playing that Tommy Immanuel would love to learn. I will post a clip of him playing in another post.

Discipleship Class Update

We just finished this week our book "Developing a Heart for God". We will be starting "Pursuing Spiritual Authenticity" next Sunday. A great series by John Ortberg.

Interesting Office Building

Heading through Newark, Ohio we once again passed a familiar landmark. Longaberger Basket Office Headquarters building. If you click on the lower picture you can see the windows. Rumor has it that someone flew a plane through the handles. I would like to have seen it happen.

A little story....my kids were given bags by the registration desk. They proceeded to walk around the display booths and take all free items. After looking through there bags we found that they had not only taken free items but ones that needed paid for as well. So the homes to all the pretty pens and erasers and other cute gadgets had to be found.
