Pheasants Forever

Here's the challenge: How do we get youth outdoors? How do we pry them away from the virtual world of computers, video games and television to experience the real world? How do we engage youth in activities that are enjoyable, exciting and full of discovery about the natural world? How do we inspire a sense of stewardship, perhaps first a sense of wonder? How do we involve families so our young people have support, additional opportunities and simply something new?

Take them hunting!!

Getting instructions before heading out.

Kenton was along for observation.

I was asked to be an extra eye and guide for safety reasons.

First pheasant on point.

Getting ready to shoot.

Mr. Greenlee's first bird.

With Greg Hatcher of Hatcher's Game Preserve who donated his preserve and birds for the hunt.

Blue on point.

Mr. Joe Wheeler gets his ringneck.

I appreciate your time and effort with young people. Especially starting right there at home with your kids. Kenton is so blessed to be in your care. I enjoy following your blog and watching your busy life. May God bless and continue to lead you. Love and prayers------maryh
